12/9/2023 0 Comments Wiring goodman heat pumpThe O Wire can run to the W terminal, but that only applies to conventional systems. The O wire should connect to the O/B terminal. O position is an option that allows the reversing valve to ‘default to heating mode.’ The O terminal allows the heat pump to switch from heating to cooling. They energize the reversing valve on the heating mode. The primary exceptions are Rheem and Ruud. Most manufacturers use the O wire for reversing the valve. It controls the first heating stage in certain units. You encounter the same problem when connecting the W wire to the wrong terminal. If anything, they may feel cold when the heat pump should warm them or hot when the pump should cool them. As a result, their unit won’t heat when they set it to ‘Heating’ or cool when they set it to ‘Cooling.’ The system uses the O terminal if the reversing valve turns on while running cooling mode. Thermostats use the B terminal in systems with a reversing valve that turns on with heat mode. The heat pump is ‘O’ if it energizes in cooling and ‘B’ if it energizes on heating. How To Tell If Heat Pump Is O or B?Ĭheck the configuration. You would be better off if that unit used the B wire in its configuration. Imagine a situation where an HVAC in a warm state fails on heat mode. If your weather is warm, the manufacturer wants the pump to fail on cool mode. They know that HVAC units and heat pumps will fail at some point, and they want that failure to occur on a mode that helps the consumer.įor instance, if you live in a cold region, the manufacturer wants the heat pump to fail on heat mode. Manufacturers do not expect their products to work indefinitely. Your location affects the wire the manufacturer will use. There are some factors that many consumers don’t consider. As to whether you should use an O or B wire, it depends on the unit. You can confirm this conclusion by checking the thermostat’s settings and searching for an emergency heat setting, which you tend to find in heat pump thermostats. If you have O and B wires and terminals, you can safely conclude that you have a heat pump. Though, the principle of the wire’s operations remains relatively unchanged. They work in tandem with the reversing valve, a tool that affects the flow of refrigerant.ĭoes every unit offer O and B wires? Not necessarily. The O and B wires are easy enough to spot because they are ‘Orange’ and ‘Dark Blue,’ respectively. O wire shift the reversing valve from heating to cooling while the B wire does the opposite (Cooling to Heating). To successfully replace a thermostat, you must understand the functions the various terminals and their wires play, especially the O and B wires, because they affect your unit’s ability to heat and cool your home.

12/8/2023 0 Comments Hyperdock mac alternativeI thought I had HyperDock in the Mac App Store listings. Do you use HyperDock from the Mac App Store or ? I have it purchased on the Mac App Store when it was allowed in there. I think, I'll do some investigating on the iTunes thing at least. And not even on macOS Mojave's iTunes it would seem. And all my experience is colored by the fact that I wasn't getting everything out HyperDock on Big Sur as I hoped. I haven't used Big Sur for a couple of days now. So that's where my comment stems from on HyperDock not having a good relationship with iTunes. Even here I uninstalled because it didn't show my album cover art in the HyperDock popup overlay as I expected it would have. DockMate is in active development last time I checked the MacEnhance Discord server and DockView is in beta still according to the website.Ĭlick to expand. No examples currently as I'm using Mojave and based on this thread I installed HyperDock. So there's that too.Įxpect bugs and possible frustrations with either solution. All mentioned applications hooks onto the Dock or extends it while having the Dock in the background for the purpose of e.g the Time Machine recover screen. There's a free trial for ActiveDock2 available too. DockMate DockView the latter is by the same author as the ActiveDock2 program I mentioned earlier. I guess you're talking about previews? when hovering Word in the Dock? Then there's DockMate and DockView. It's kind of hard to make a proper suggestion as the taskbar on Windows and the Dock on macOS are two different approaches to handling apps and application windows I wouldn't suggest ActiveDock2 as it appears somewhat alpha still. I was looking through what I might have in my arsenal for macOS and there's SwitchGlass that you might take a gander at, it's no replacement - as the Dock can't be replaced only misplaced and extended upon by using third party programs such as SwitchGlass and Panelicious. What if you utilize the Dock's minimize to Dock where you'll have your Word documents that are currently open on the right-hand side of the Dock? What are the differences in appearance for each Word document. There's no other way than go back to using Windows and the taskbar for that feature unless I can't comprehend what you actually mean? isn't there just a Word overlay for the documents you have open on Windows in the taskbar? It also includes foods from the menus of over 760 restaurant chains, so you know you're still nailing your macros even when you're eating out. "I am a big fan of Nutritionix because it has a regulated database of foods, so I know the nutrition information is accurate," says Salafia. You’re also more likely to feel fuller for longer. For starters, you’ll be hitting your protein target, which can help you build muscle. There are many benefits to counting your macros, according to Spritzler. "Having objective data from the tracking, along with subjective data, like energy levels, stress, sleep, etc., makes nutrition interventions way more impactful and the results sustainable." What are the health benefits associated with tracking your macros? "Tracking macronutrients can help you see how the balance of carbs, protein and fats you're eating are making you feel," says Monica Salafia, RD, of Mind on Nutrition. Do some foods make you gassier or more tired than others? Are you loading up on way too many carbs and not enough protein? Answering these questions will help you adjust your diet accordingly. Many of these apps also ask that you log how you're feeling and how the foods you're eating are affecting you, which can give you insight into whether the diet you're currently following is a good fit.

Some highly compressed video formats can go 200 or more frames between I-frames. However, in order to view a P-frame, the computer has to go back to the last I-frame, and decode every single frame up until that P-frame. P-frames, or delta frames, contain only the changes from the last frame, making them much smaller in size than I-frames because they are only storing a fraction of the data. The reason is that the more I-frames you have, the larger the file is, and the goal of delivery codecs like H.264 or WMV is to compress the video as much as possible. Int er-frame codecs, alternatively, use very few I-frames. Every frame is encoded and decoded individually. Int ra-frame codecs use I-frames exclusively. I-frames, also known as keyframes, contain all the information for a frame on each individual frame. Inter-frame codecs use three different types of video frames: I-frames, P-frames, and B-frames. To get a little technical, here’s how it works: Inter-frame codecs take advantage of redundant information on neighboring frames, and save space by storing the changes between frames. Inter-frame codecs, on the other hand, rely on information in preceding and occasionally upcoming frames. As the name suggests, you are basically encoding each separate frame as its own picture. Intra-frame codecs store all the video information for each frame on every individual frame. To handle these two scenarios, there are two distinct codec types: Intra-frame codecs (best for editing) and Inter-frame codecs (best for delivery). This can result in large, uncompressed files with lots of video data.Īlternatively, when delivering a digital video, you want your file to be compressed and as easy as possible for your video player to access, read and display. So, ideally, all the data or information for each frame should be easily accessible to the editing program. When editing digital video, non-linear editing programs work by accessing and changing the individual frames of that digital file. If you use a “delivery” format in an editing program (such as ScreenFlow), it can behave distinctly BADLY, causing all sorts of problems that, if you don’t know what’s going on, can appear to be caused by your editing program. In the world of digital video there are formats that are designed for editing, and then there are formats that are designed for delivery (or distribution). One of the first questions we ask (after “did you spill a cold beverage on your keyboard?”) is:ĭo you have imported video in your projects and if so what format/codecs are those imported videos? Editing formats vs. We occasionally get support calls from people that are experiencing strange lagging, stuttering, or freezing of ScreenFlow when they are trying to edit their projects. This deviation from fundamentals was largely due to markets building-in expectation of a gradual reversal of the Bank of Japan’s (BoJ) monetary policy, from years of maintaining an extreme dovish bias to a more hawkish tilt, as inflationary pressures rise. In Figure 1 above, between January and April 2023, USD/JPY traded weaker than the level implied by the interest rate differential. USD/JPY and difference between 10-year US and Japanese government bond yields This should drive interest rate differentials between the US and Japan lower, pushing USD/JPY lower (or yen stronger).įig 1: Lower Interest rate differentials to drag USD/JPY lower Consequently, we expect US government bond yields to decline modestly over the next few months, eventually dipping below 3% by March 2024. If this scenario plays out as we expect, the Fed is likely to begin cutting rates by the end of the year as it tries to avoid a deep recession. Hence, we expect the US to enter a mild recession by Q4 of this year. While US inflation has proven to be stickier than expected, we cannot ignore that the US economy is slowing down as we start to see the lagged impact of 500bps of Fed rate hikes over the past 15 months. The current spike in US bond yields appears to be another case of a knee-jerk overreaction from investors. Nevertheless, we know that markets often tend to overreact to shifting narratives. This has pushed USD/JPY pair higher (or the yen weaker). Over the past few weeks, the 10-year rate differential has widened on the back of rising US government bond yields as financial markets sharply reduced their expectations of Fed rate cuts over the next 12 months due to hawkish commentary from Fed policymakers amid stickier-than-expected US inflation data. While most currency pairs tend to show strong correlation with short-term (usually 2-year) interest rate differentials, USD/JPY stands out – the pair has a strong relationship with 10-year nominal interest differential between US and Japan in the post-pandemic era. Interest rate differentials to turn from headwind to a tailwind Such a move would translate into double-digit returns for JPY investors. Here, we highlight three potential catalysts which could push the USD/JPY pair towards 120-125 range. We believe markets expectations have now run ahead of reality, offering investors with 12-24-month horizon a rare opportunity to add exposure to the JPY. Higher US bond yields and unwinding of market expectations of a more hawkish BoJ policy have been the primary drivers for the yen’s underperformance. The Japanese yen (JPY) has been one of the worst performing major currencies in 2023.
